A picture of a topless girl, alleged to be Moroccan, is circulating social networking sites, triggering intense controversy and debates among Moroccans.
Shot on the roof of what looks like a Moroccan coastal city, the image shows the girl holding a banner reading “Free Femen”. The picture was posted on Femen France’s Facebook page, calling it the "first topless protester in Morocco."
Writing "There will be millions of us from Morocco to Tunisia!" across her body, the Moroccan girl has called for the "liberation of women."
Many people have shared the image and posted comments encouraging and debasing the act.
Founded in Ukraine in 2008, in support for Tunisian activist, Amina Tyler, whose bare breasted picture caused rage all over the country, Femen is a self-declared “radical feminist” group known for its topless protests against sexual exploitation of women, sexism and religious institutions.
