Dr. Maytha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairman of the Marriage Fund, affirmed that H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, supports all the successive academic developments of the health sector in the country and across the world.
She said that Sheikha Fatima is keen on supporting international academic activities, especially issues related to heart diseases which represent a significant risk to human health, particularly in the UAE, where a large number of people suffer from chronic heart failure in addition to other diseases associated with the heart such as hypertension and diabetes.
Dr. Maytha made these remarks while opening the 4th World Heart Failure Society Congress (WHFS) 2014, which is being held under the patronage of Sheikha Fatima from December 11-13 at Danat Al Ain Resort.
Sheikha Maytha indicated that the UAE gives importance to such conferences that host the best international experts in the field of heart diseases, as they would contribute to developing the health sector.
