Bahraini minister of justice speaking in celebration held by RUW
Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed the leadership's keenness to further empower Bahraini women and boost their role as a main partner in the comprehensive
development march.
He pointed out, in a speech given on behalf of him by Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry Undersecretary for Justice Affairs Khalid Ajaji, Bahrain's advanced steps in empowering women in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The Justice Ministry Undersecretary was speaking in a celebration held by the Royal University for Women (RUW), marking the National Day, during which a Moot Court was opened. He commended Bahrain's development strides describing them as a national epic in nation-building. He voiced keenness on further accomplishments and unity of all Bahrainis under the wise leadership of HM the King.
He pointed out that the idea of Moot Court appeared first in the USA in 1960 when the International Law Students Association, in Washington, started to hold this kind of interactive competitions among students in international law under the name Jessup Moot Court. He said the number of participating universities in the annual competition has topped 650.
He added that the idea has widely spread all over the world and become a main component of teaching law in all colleges with 74 internationally-registered courts. some of which enjoy a great international reputation.
He underscored the minstry's efforts to support legal study in Bahrain by providing practical training for students, pointing out the setting up of the Legal Clinic at the University of Bahrain which aims to shed light on human rights and the international standards in this respect.
He praised the efforts of the College of Law and the RUW to set up the virtual training court.
