Turkish Parliament supports Moroccan marriage
Casablanca – Youssra Moustafa
An interesting step was taken by the Turkish parliament to intervene in the issue of marriages in Morocco by supporting 100 weddings taking place over the next few weeks. This came within the framework of encouraging the
youth to get married and build their own families, following international statistics revealing the deterioration in marriage percentage among Moroccan youth.
The parliamentary intervention is the first of a kind in the history of relations between Turkey and Morocco where huge amounts of money will be spent as financial contributions from the Turkish parliament to support the marriage ceremonies.
The contributions also include sending house equipments, appliances and furniture for the newly married couples.
?lhan Yerlikaya, Head of Parliamentary Friendship Group between Turkey and Morocco in the Turkish Parliament, said that a wedding for 100 couples is being prepared in Morocco in a pure humanitarian solidarity.
He explained that he discussed this issue with the Minister of Parliamentary Relations and Moroccan Civil Society, al-Habib al-Shawbani, who expressed his pleasure and welcomed the step which will consolidate the bilateral relations between the two countries.
