Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdalmalek al Makhlafi headed for New York on Thursday to attend an extraordinary meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The meeting will focus on the political and humanitarian conditions in Yemen.
Makhlafi will deliver a speech at the council meeting.
He will also take part in a seminar organized by the UN permanent mission in Yemen due to be held on Monday on the latest developments in Yemen at the political, legal and humanitarian levels.
Senior political figures from Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the US will take part in the event.
