Minister of Agriculture Abdel Moneim el Banna met Monday with World Food Programme (WFP) Country Director in Egypt Menghestab Haile to discuss means to promote cooperation between both sides and follow up on the progress of joint projects.
El Banna stressed the importance of supporting smallholder farmers to help them adapt to climate change and build resilience in food security.
El Banna and Haile reviewed the WFP's action plan during the period from 2018 to 2022 in light of Egypt's 2030 strategy for sustainable agricultural development.
