UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday met with United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, WAM reported.
The meeting dealt with the latest developments in Yemen and efforts made by the UN to solve the crisis and deliver humanitarian assistance throughout the country.
Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the UAE's support of the UN in its quest to reach a political solution in Yemen.
He emphasized the county's historic stance in assisting Yemen and its people, and its commitment towards supporting legitimacy in order to restore security and stability, as well as preserve its sovereignty and unity.
Sheikh Abdullah also stressed the need to ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people.
The UN Envoy lauded the UAE for its consistent support of Yemen.
