Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit reiterated on Thursday support for all efforts exerted by Bahrain to fight terrorism.
He also expressed the pan-Arab body's rejection of attempts to meddle with Bahrain's internal affairs, according to a statement released by the AL after Abul Gheit's meeting with a delegation representing the civil society in Bahrain.
He lauded tangible efforts and positive initiatives launched by the NGOs in Bahrain to boost non-governmental action at national and Arab levels.
The delegation briefed Abul Gheit on NGOs' efforts to assist the Bahraini government achieve sustainable development, Arab League chief's spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said in the statement.
Afifi said the meeting comes as part of the Arab League's efforts to maintain contacts with NGOs in Arab countries to preserve stability and ensure the materialization of peoples' aspirations.
