Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam on Saturday mourned the death of four UAE soldiers after their helicopter crashed in Yemen while carrying out their mission within the framework of the Saudi-led coalition forces fighting against Houthi rebels.
In a statement, Allam extended condolences to the government and people of the UAE as well as to the victims' families.
The four were carrying out their routine missions in Shabwa governorate in Yemen, when their helicopter suffered a technical glitch which caused its crash.
