King Mohammed VI visited former Istiqlal Party (IP) Secretary General, Mhamed Boucetta, who was recently admitted to Rabat’s Military Hospital.
The King asked about the status of Boucetta on Thursday following his hospitalization for acute bronchitis and sinusitis.
Boucetta, who led the IP from 1974-1998, had recently intervened to resolve the IP crisis following the uproar among members of the IP over the statement of current Secretary General of the IP against Mauritania, claiming that “Mauritania lays on Moroccan soil and it is a land that is purely Moroccan.”
Earlier this month, a group of leading party members visited Boucetta at his house in Rabat to resolve the declining situation of the IP after it was one the leading parties throughout the history of Moroccan politics.
