Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Moustafa Madbouly held a meeting Tuesday with officials from Schneider Electric company on cooperation in water desalination sector.
Madbouly said the ministry has a five-year plan aiming at producing one million cubic meters daily of desalinated water in coastal cities.
Walid Sheta, Schneider Electric's Regional Cluster Head of North East Africa and Levant, hailed the achievements realized in Egypt in the infrastructure domain.
He noted that this had prompted the company's board chairman to visit Egypt several days ago to discuss means of boosting investments.
Sheta said the board chairman had talks with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on cooperation in the fields of smart cities, smart networks for electricity distribution and water desalination
