Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov said Friday flights between Moscow and Cairo are to resume in February after a two-year hiatus.
No legal obstacles face the resumption of regular flights between Cairo and Moscow after necessary amendments were made to a decree earlier taken by the the Russian president, the minister added.
Airlines will need time to reach agreements with airports and air services companies, Sokolov said.
Earlier in the day, Russia and Egypt have signed an agreement on cooperation on civil aviation security in a first step to resume regular Russian flights to Cairo.
The agreement should allow flights to Cairo to resume in February 2018
