Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Monday issued a decision to appoint Mohammed Omran as Acting Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA), Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr said.
The EFSA will work on outlining a comprehensive strategy for the non-banking financial tools in order to secure funds required for pumping new investments, Nasr said.
Omarn has served as the chairman of the Bourse for two terms between September 2011 and August 2017.
He also worked as the deputy chairman of the Bourse for four years between 2006 and 2010.
In 1999, Omran earned a PhD in Philosophy from Plymouth University in the UK before working as a visiting professor in several British and American universities.
