His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, during his current visit to Thailand, attended the funeral of the late Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
The funeral rites was led by King Vajiralongkorn, and attended by a number of kings, presidents, prime ministers and official delegations representing 42 countries.

HRH the Prime Minister renewed condolences to the Thai Royal Family and the Thai people, recalling with appreciation the role played by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej to consolidate stability in his country, as well as his efforts to support peace and stability across the world.

"The late king enjoyed political wisdom and a distinguished international status. He was an inspirational leader who contributed to the progress of his country and deserved the appreciation and love of his people," HRH Premier said.

HRH Premier expressed confidence that HM King Vajiralongkorn will follow in the footsteps of the late king and carry on the process which has made Thailand one of the leading Asian countries in terms of economy and development.

The Prime Minister praised the ever-progressing Bahraini-Thai relations, which, he said, reflect the strong ties between the two friendly countries’ leaderships and peoples, as well as their shared keenness on enhancing cooperation to achieve common interests.

HRH Premier stressed Bahrain’s interest in bolstering cooperation with Thailand in the political, economic, trade and investment fields to meet the aspirations of the two friendly peoples.

HRH the Prime Minister wished Thailand further progress and prosperity.
