President Sisi held talks on Sunday with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas at Cairo's Ittihadiya Presidential Palace.
Sisi emphasized Egypt’s firm stance to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, which in turn could help regain regional security and stability and create a suitable atmosphere to achieve development and economic progress.
This solution should guarantee the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital, Sisi underlined.
The Palestinian president offered his sincere condolences to Sisi over the victims of the terrorist attack that occurred Friday in southern Rafah.
The two leaders touched on the latest developments of the Palestinian issue and ways to revive the Middle East peace talks.
Sisi and Abbas also reviewed the US efforts to resume the stalled Palestinian-Israeli peace talks. (MORE)
