President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Wednesday South Sudanese Minister of Presidential Affairs Mayik Ayii Deng, in the presence of Head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service Khaled Fawzi.
Egypt is keen to consolidate the foundations of peace in South Sudan, Sisi said. He added that Cairo is also willing to exert utmost efforts to contribute to achieving security and stability in the African country.
Egypt will continue supporting the ongoing efforts in South Sudan to meet the aspirations of the South Sudanese people for economic and social development, Sisi noted.
In a message from South Sudan President Salva Kiir that was handed over to Sisi, Deng confirmed that his country is eager to strengthen relations with Egypt in different fields.
During the meeting, president Sisi and Deng reviewed the latest developments in South Sudan and the efforts exerted to restore security and stability there.
