President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday met with Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar.
Presidential adviser for urban planning Ameer Sayed Ahmed and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Kamel el Wazir took part in the meeting.
The meeting dealt with the ongoing efforts to improve university and research facilities and educational institutes nationwide, presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.
The minister reviewed plans currently being implemented concerning the establishment of university educational facilities in several governorates to accommodate students and improve the level of educational services provided by the ministry.
The meeting also discussed plans to establish university complexes in the new administrative capital, the spokesman said.
Abdel Ghaffar told the president that the ministry has negotiated with a number of major international universities to establish branches in the new capital, including Canadian and British universities, as well as national universities.
Sisi called for benefiting from foreign expertise in the efforts made to develop and modernize the university education and scientific research systems, especially in the new university complexes being established nationwide
