The British Embassy in Cairo said Friday that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is expected to attend a ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of the Second Battle of El Alamein which took place in the Egyptian desert in 1942.
In a statement, the embassy said representatives from up to 35 countries will take part in the event.
UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa Alistair Burt along high-ranking UK army officials will represent the kingdom to the ceremony.
The 2nd Battle of El Alamein was a decisive battle of the Second World War that took place near the Egyptian railway halt of El Alamein.
