Tourism Minister Yehia Rashed left Tuesday for Vatican City, heading a high-level delegation, to attend a mass led by Vatican's Pope Francis to bless the route of the Holy Family in Egypt to bless the icon of the holy family's flight into the country.
In statements by Rashed, he said that blessing the route is an important step to include Egypt in the Vatican Pilgrimage program in 2018 as it represents success of the Pope's visit to Egypt in April.
The minister stressed the keenness of the Tourism Ministry on promoting the religious tourism in Egypt, especially the route of the Holy Family's journey in Egypt.
Rashed visited the Vatican in May after the Pope's historical visit to Egypt in April to discuss cooperation between Egypt and Vatican in activating religious tourism in Egypt, particularly with regard to the route of the Holy Family's journey
