Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed said he accepted the resignation of Minister of Development, Investment and International Co-operation and interim Minister of Finance Fadhel Abdelkefi, TAP reported on Friday.
He also told reporters Friday at the government palace in Kasbah he tasked Abdelkefi with continuing to run the two departments till new ministers are appointed.
Abdelkefi earlier said he had tendered his resignation as minister of development, investment and international co-operation and interim minister of finance to the prime minister.
Abdelkefi's decision to quit comes as he is due to appear on September 4 in court after an action was brought against him by the Directorate- General for Customs over financial transactions of the firm of which he is the legal representative.
Fadhel Abdelkefi lodged last August 10 an appeal against the court ruling after he was handed a prison sentence and ordered to pay a fine of 1.800 MTD.
