Dengue fever claimed four more lives on Sunday, with the death toll reaching 211 in the provincial metropolis and 231 in the Punjab in Pakistan, Geo news reported. According to the data, the number of Dengue victims is increasing and the total has now reached 14470 in Lahore after 221 more tested positive. Meanwhile, sources also confirmed 244 more cases in the province after which the total number of patients has soared to 16793. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced financial assistance of Rs 0.5 million for the heirs to each person who died of dengue virus. He made the announcement while presiding over a meeting of the emergency committee held to review the steps taken for eradication of dengue virus on Saturday.
