Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, received on Tuesday the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) - Silver Category in health sector in recognition of the outstanding performance, continuous improvement and commitment to excellence of the Ruwais Hospital of ADNOC.
A ceremony to honour the award winners was held at the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi and was attended by local dignitaries and representatives from private and public sectors.
H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, bestowed the award to Dr. Ghuwaya Al Neyadi, Manager, Medical Services Unit at ADNOC, in the presence of several senior officials of the company.
"We are proud of winning this prestigious award, which bears the name of our great leader His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE," said Rashed Al Shamsi, Director of Business and Commercial Support at ADNOC, while commenting on winning the award, now in its 15th edition.
"ADNOC has a permanent presence in Abu Dhabi’s Western Region and works alongside the Western Region Development Council to support sustainable economic growth and social development of the region. As part of its social responsibility, ADNOC constantly looks for ways in which it can positively impact the society; it is investing in education and research, and developing critical infrastructure that supports Abu Dhabi’s growth and development," he said.
ADNOC’S Ruwais Hospital, a modern healthcare facility with a total built-up area of approximately 21,100 sq. m., covers all inpatient and outpatient procedures for the greater area of Ruwais. The hospital provides healthcare and emergency services to the employees and eligible dependents of ADNOC and its group of companies, and also to the local community in Ruwais in the Western.
Earlier, ADNOC’s Medical Services Unit received special certificates in the category of Sustaining Emiratisation in the Healthcare Sector in the 11th edition of SKEA.
SKEA was launched by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ADCCI, in 1999 as a blueprint, a roadmap and a methodology for continuous improvement, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the business sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
Applicants competing for the award are drawn from all sectors of the economy, which is a common practice in all other international quality and excellence awards. Winners are selected from public and private sectors based on the best practices adopted by the establishments in their pursuit of business excellence, and a comprehensive evaluation of each company was carried out as per European standards.
