At least 123 people have died after drinking bootleg alcohol, officials in India's West Bengal state said. Seven people have been arrested and the alcohol is being tested by forensic investigators, The Press Trust of India reported Thursday. Dozens of people remained hospitalized. Police said the day laborers and and other low-income workers had purchased the alcohol from illegal operations in the Mograhat area beginning Tuesday night, officials said. The victims, who complained of stomach pain, vomiting, chest pain and body aches, were taken to hospitals in Bangur, Kolkata and Diamond Harbor, CNN-IBN reported.
