A Palestinian detainees' center on Wednesday appealed to human rights organizations to intervene and help a sick prisoner detained by Israel The center said Israeli prison authorities have kept Ammar Samhan, from Nablus, in solitary confinement for long periods despite his poor health. Samhan's parents appealed to President Mahmoud Abbas and Palestinian Authority Minister of Detainee Affairs Issa Qaraqe to end their son's suffering. Israel detained Samhan in 2003 and sentenced him to life. He is accused of leading the Fatah-affiliated Al-Aqsa Martyr brigades in Nablus.
