The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has donated 25 cartons of medicines worth Dh 1.25 million to Emirates Red Crescent (ERC).
Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, chairman of the board of the DHA, recently received a delegation from the ERC at the DHA headquarters.
Al Qatami praised the humanitarian efforts of the organisation and said, "We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent by donating medicines to help those in need. Taking part in such humanitarian initiatives is in line with the vision of our leaders and in line with the DHA strategy. The medicines donated include diabetes drugs, antibiotics and other essential medicines needed for treating various medical conditions."
He added that in January this year, DHA donated medicines worth Dh 2 million to ERC towards the ‘Show Compassion' (Tarahamu) campaign.
Mohammed Abdulla Alhaj Al Zarouni, director of the office ERC in Dubai, thanked the DHA for its continuous support towards ERC's projects, particularly in the field of health care, medicines and medical equipment.
He said, "These contributions have had a deep positive impact on relief efforts and external projects of the ERC. Charitable activities are in line with the vision of , Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and we highly appreciate the DHA's humanitarian initiatives in this field."
