The association of Egyptian doctors and university professors in Britain has called for establishing an international medical city on the Suez Canal banks.
In statements to MENA on Saturday, the association spokesman, Dr Mahmoud el Sherbiny, said the project is meant to boost regional and international therapeutic tourism in Egypt.
He added that the medical city should be established in an attractive location for international companies operating in the field of manufacturing medical equipment.
Internationally qualified medical teams should work in the city alongside professional Egyptian doctors, he said.
He added that medical teams from Britain can also be invited to the city. International medical and pharmaceutical companies should also be encouraged to invest in the medical city.
