The Health Ministry said on Thursday that it has placed its staff and facilities on high alert in preparation for the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) which will kick off in Sharm el Sheikh on Friday.
In statements to MENA, the ministry's spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that all the medical teams at Cairo and Sharm el Sheikh airports have been enhanced ahead of the arrival of participating delegations.
An ambulance was placed outside the residence of the guests and outside outside the conference hall in Sharm el Sheikh, the spokesman said.
There is also a clinic and ICU at the conference center, he said.
He added that 40 ambulances have been deployed all over Sharm el Sheikh city and the capacity of Sharm el Sheikh Hospital was doubled to receive emergency cases.
Coordination was made with the Armed Forces to provide air ambulance between Sharm el Sheikh and Cairo airports, he added.
