Minister of Health Ahmed Emad el Din Rady inspected on Saturday construction works of a tumor treatment center in Cairo's Nasr City district ahead of its official inauguration.
The four-floor center is established at a total cost of about EGP 91 million and it is the first tumor treatment center to be affiliated to the General Authority for Health Insurance, the minister said.
The minister further noted that the center will include the basic infrastructure of a tumor treatment hospital in compliance with relevant international standards.
The ministry will hire medical and technical cadres from the National Cancer Institute, Cairo University and Ain Shams University, Rady noted.
Meanwhile, Assistant Health Minister Ali Hegazy said the new center will include a chemotherapy unit in addition to a multi-service lab, which would be the largest one at the General Authority for Health Insurance.
