Over 600 inmates at the Zaio Agricultural Prison have benefited from healthcare services provided by General Mutual of Public Administrations Personnel (MGPAP) for a week and a half in March.
For the second time, the MGPAP has been working with the communal council and the Zaio Agricultural Prison on medical program for the benefit of the prisoners.
Under the theme “Health care and penitentiary institutions … We are all concerned”, this program was organized between March 13 and 25 .
A total of 636 prisoners benefited from medical assistance: 125 prisoners benefited from dermatology services, 57 from dental services, 103 from general medical consultation , 43 from ear, nose, and throat care, while 119 people were screened for diabetes, 86 benefited from consultations in ophthalmology,73 from cardiology and 18 from endocrinology care.
At the launch of this program, director of the Zaio Agricultural Prison and chairman of the board of directors of the Mutual Fund, Abdelmoula Abdelmoumni welcomed the MGPAP for this initiative to preserve the health of prisoners.
