Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Public Health Affairs Dr. Majida Al-Qattan has announced that a conference on infectious diseases will be held here on January 16-18, under the auspices of Minister of Health Dr. Ali Al-Obeidi
The conference, in which a number of specialists and consultants of this field from the Gulf and European countries take part, aims at upgrading the skills of medical staff, including nurses, doctors and workers, and issuing recommendations regarding better healthcare of people in Kuwait and across the globe, she said in a press statement.
The event will deal with several significant topics relating to diagnosis, combat and treat infectious diseases to cope with the latest developments, provide an opportunity to share information and to know international and regional efforts in this field, she noted.
Thanks to the concerted efforts of medical staff on the country's ports, Al-Qattan underlined the existence of a unified technical protocol which effectively contributed to protecting the country from the spread of such diseases like "coronavirus" whose symptoms appeared in some neighboring countries.
For her part, Dr. Ghalia Al-Mutairi, director of the media bureau at the ministry, said the event would include scientific sessions and lectures as well as discussions and workshops aiming at training Kuwaiti personnel in the field of combating infectious diseases.
She underlined the importance of this event especially amid the outbreak of different kinds of diseases with the onset of the 21st century caused by some viruses like bird flu, swine flu, corona and Ebola
