Deputy Chairman of the Cancer Aware Nation (CAN) Dr. Khaled Al-Saleh shared the Kuwaiti experience in anti-cancer campaigning during the first conference for the GCC cancer prevention center which concluded here recently.Dr. Saleh, also the Secretary General for the GCC cancer prevention federation, told KUNA Saturday that the CAN Campaign, which was launched in 2006 under the auspices of the Kuwaiti leadership, had succeeded in spreading awareness about the disease that claimed numerous lives.He added that the campaign had signed in 2010-2011 an agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) to train over 100 teachers in Kuwait on breast cancer prevention measures.The CAN also succeeded in training around 14,000 students in self examination test for breast cancer, said the official, who hoped that such experience would inspire others to carry on some similar steps within the cancer prevention domain.
