Dr. Nader Al-Awadi, director of Kuwait's Chest Diseases Hospital (CDH), here on Tuesday underlined the importance of medical cooperation with Japan's Osaka University Hospital to develop and enhance the CDH's heart unit.
In a news statement at a mutual workshop organized by Ministry of Health between the two hospitals on heart diseases, Al-Awadi said that the hospital goes on developing its plans in medical, administrative and services levels.
He noted that such moves contribute to improving health system and expand Arab, regional and international cooperation.
For his part, Dr. Mohammad Al-Mutairi, the head of Cardiology Department, said that cooperation aims at benefiting from Japanese experiments and experiences in this field.
At least four workshops were held here and about 30 Kuwaiti patients were successfully treated by using modern Japanese technology, he pointed out.
He added that the workshop provided opportunities to discuss the ways of developing Kuwaiti-Japanese medical cooperation in the field of heart diseases.
The two sides also discussed enhancing further cooperation including many fields that aimed at training Kuwaiti physicians and improving their skills, Al-Mutairi said.
He stressed hospital's constant keenness on developing and equipping this unit with modern medical devices, praising effort exerted by visiting Japanese medical team and hospital's physicians.
