Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah attended the event on behalf of His Highness the Amir.
Addressing the forum, Sheikh Ali Jarrah said he would like to convey the greetings of His Highness the Amir to the forum and the Indian Community in Kuwait The ongoing hard work of the Indian doctors in Kuwait has gained them acknowledgement and respect from the local community through their involvement in community-oriented services like medical health screening camps and health seminars, he said.
It has also contributed to further strengthening the bond of existing friendship between both countries, he added.
"In Kuwait, we see a general rise in the cases of geriatric disorders as a result of the continuous improvement of health services and a better standard of living, thus leading to a large population of elderly, where their needs have to be addressed by society and the government," the deputy minister of Amiri Diwan said.
This year's Health Guide on geriatric medicine will enlighten the people about the health problems of old age and how to remain health in old age, he said, adding "I'm sure this health guide on geriatric medicine will be well-received by the community." "I take this opportunity to congratulate and extend my heartfelt thanks to the Indian Doctors for their service to the community and I wish them all the success," he said.
For his part, Chairman of the Indian Doctors Forum Dr. Vinod Grover recounted the various community welfare activities like free medical screening camps, health guides and free seminars conducted in coordination with Kuwait Medical Association.
He hailed His Highness the Amir's support for Indian doctors, and hailed historical relations between both Kuwaiti and Indian peoples.
