Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, opened in Abu Dhabi today the Holistic Medical Centre (HMC), the UAE's first medical facility that provides specialised services in occupational health.
Based in Khalifa A City, HMC is the first centre of its kind in the UAE and the fourth in the world after Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. The centre delivers all occupational health needs right from the basic understanding of occupational health and its impact on business to the most up-to-date services at the frontiers of knowledge in occupational medicine.
HMC's Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nahyan Helal, the first specialist Emirati doctor in occupational medicine and occupational health, who is licenced since 2006 by the Health Authority Abu-Dhabi, said the centre was founded by Emirati hands, in collaboration with Concept Company.
He added that the centre has the capacity to deal with over 300 patients per day, served by occupational health specialists, general practitioners, and other specialists.
"We are confident of offering a fast, professional and efficient service to the employers and employees. We can provide a full range of health screening checks from basic to executive levels," he said.
HMC is supported by the Khalifa Fund which aims to create a new generation of Emirati entrepreneurs, by instilling and enriching the culture of investment among young people.
