The Health Ministry has taken a number of strict preventive measures to face any outbreak of epidemic diseases among Egyptian pilgrims, a senior health official said on Saturday.
Amr Qandil, head of the ministry’s preventive medicine sector, met earlier in the day with the Hajj mission’s preventive team to discuss a preventive plan set by the ministry for this year's Hajj season.
Qandil said the team consists of three groups and is tasked with following up and monitoring the health conditions of the pilgrims.
The team vaccinated all pilgrims against meningitis before their travel to perform the Hajj ritual, he added.
