Emergency medical workers were rushed to the house of former Israeli president Shimon Peres on Sunday night, after the 92-year-old reported he was suffering from chest pains, The Jerusalem Post reported.
Magen David Adom paramedics performed an ECG test on Peres, which showed he had suffered a mild heartbeat abnormality.
The former president was then evacuated to Sheba Medical Center outside Tel Aviv.
According to a statement from Peres' spokesperson, the doctor treating Peres decided that the veteran diplomat would be hospitalized overnight for observation and testing.
Peres had been released from the Sheba Medical Center last week, after suffering from a light heart attack.
