Sisi stresses importance of availability of all medicines at affordable prices

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi underlined the importance of taking the necessary measures to develop the health sector, ensuring that all medicines are available at affordable prices and upgrading the medicine manufacturing in Egypt.

Sisi's remarks were made on the sidelines of his meeting Tuesday with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef.

The president gave directives to follow up the measures taken to maintain the availability of basic commodities at affordable prices in a way that would contribute to easing the burden on the low-income and the poor, Youssef added.

Meanwhile, the premier reviewed the outcome of the meetings that were held over the past days with the officials concerned at the health sector in order to make sure that medicines are available nationwide at affordable prices, said the spokesman.
