Tunisian singer Latifa . TUNIS - Arabstoday Tunisian singer Latifa has revealed that she was banned from entering Egypt and all her works were boycotted from being aired on all Egyptian television and radio stations. Latifa added that the ban was made by officials in the former Egyptian regime that was ousted after the January 25 Revolution. According to the internet website MBC.net, Latifa added that she had been banned several times in Egypt back in the eighties and nineties, but did not reveal the reasons behind the decision to ban her. With regards to rumors circulated over the internet about her close relationship to the former Tunisian government of Bin Ali that was ousted after the Tunisian revolution, Latifa stressed that such rumors are not true. Latifa stated that all of the Tunisian press know very well that she and the former government were on very bad terms and she was boycotted on all Tunisian television stations for over a year and a half. Latifa said that she hopes people would stop digging in her past and look for reasons behind problems she faced in Egypt and Tunisia. From Al Bawaba
