The Management of Al Majaz Amphitheatre - affiliated to the Sharjah Media Centre (SMC) – announced thepostponement of the charity concert by Lebanese singer Majida El Roumi, which was scheduled to be held tonight (Friday), to take place on Monday 26th January.
The announcement was made due to the death of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia and the declaration of a three-day mourning period in the UAE.
The Sharjah Media Centre mourns the loss of a great Arab and Muslim figure and offers heartfelt condolences to the wise Saudi leadership and people, praying to Allah Almighty to bless the soul of the late king with mercy in Paradise.
The concert is organised to raise funds for and support the "Big Heart Foundation", a humanitarian initiative launched by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and UNHCR Eminent Advocate for Refugee Children, to provide protection to refugee children worldwide and ensure a better future for them. Proceeds of the concert will go to the Foundation and donations will be collected from the audience during the performance.
