Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab Cairo – Marwa Yehia Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab is not happy. The star is furious that songs from her new album "Esa'al Alaya" (Ask about me) were illegally downloaded off the internet before beang released, despite its popularity. The singer said it was a "severe shock" for her, because "those who leaked the album wasted three years' worth of hard and continuous work to create good songs for the public". Sherine said: "I am shocked because this act wastes an entire industry and harms a lot of families and production companies." The singer expressed her anger at the press and media, where she claims her statements were distorted and fabricated, casting doubts on her patriotism. Regarding the album's launch on the first anniversary of the revolution, she said that it was supposed to be launched before but was delayed for technical reasons. However the internet leak prompted the company to launch it as soon as possible. When asked about the new people she dealt with in the album, she said: "I do not care about personalities as long as the song is nice and fits me." The star said she was willing to buy any song even if it was not included in the album and that she already bought seven songs from Mohammed Rifai, a composer and singer, as well as composer Mohamed Abdel-Moneim. Regarding songs that will be accompanied by music videos, she said that no song had been determined yet, however three songs would be chosen depending on the audience's choice. When asked whether the new album was her last effort with entertainment company "Rotana" and if she had any plans to renew her contract, she said she was currently just focusing on the album and its response from the public, saying she wasn't satisfied with the idea of propagating her songs through just medium. She added that the advertising campaigns were few which made her feel worried. On rumours that she was leaving Egypt for Lebanon, she said she would only do so to throw parties. "I am Egyptian and I will live and die in my country," affirmed the singer.
