Bouchoucha is fond of Syrian dramas Beirut - Nicolas Azar Algerian actress Amal Bouchoucha says she is enjoying the experience of working on her first Egyptian drama. The actress has recently held been on set with the production team of Underground, produced? by Dina Karim in Cairo. Bouchoucha told Arabstoday that working with Egyptian performers "is an honour," because she feels that both Syrian and Egyptian dramas have their own unique audience. "The drama is based around humanitarian issues," she said, refusing to disclose more information about the project. However, she added that the production team have filmed the first 12 episodes, and told fans to expect plenty of twists and turns. Bouchoucha explained that she loves starring in dramas with a "realistic" storyline, hence her decision to work on Flea Time, a series about the situation in Syria - in which she plays the role of Rueda, a Syrian girl battling against traditions and social norms. Commenting on her potential participation in the third part of Birth From The Flank, Bouchoucha said she is yet to make a firm decision, because the script and details of the role have not been finalised. However, the Algerian performer predicted that the third installment would be more exciting than the previous two series. Bouchoucha quashed speculation that Turkish star Songül Öden had joined the cast of Underground, and clarified that she is the only non-Egyptian actress on set, alongside Egyptian stars such as Amir Karara, Dina Sherbini, Engie Mokadem and Ahmed Salah Hosni. Meanwhile, Bouchoucha refused to comment on speculation that she has been lined up to play the role of the late Algerian singer Warda. The actress said it would be an honour for her to take part in a film about the legendary singer who died last year, but added that it was too early to speak about such projects, considering the musician had so recently passed away.
