Marlon Wayans has Fifty Shades of Grey spoof Fifty Shades of Black in the works.
The 42-year-old actor will write and star in a parody adaptation of the E.L. James novel, which was previously adapted by Sam Taylor-Johnson with Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey.
Rick Alvarez, who collaborated with Wayans on White Chicks (2004) and A Haunted House (2013), will co-write the film, with A Haunted House helmer Michael Tiddes as director.
The movie is in development at Open Road Films, with A Haunted House production company IM Global as producer. The spoof has not set a release date, nor announced other stars.
"Our love for Marlon Wayans is unmatched and, along with our friends at IM Global, we can't wait to introduce the world to Mr. Black," Open Roads Films CEO Tom Ortenberg said in a statement.
Taylor-Johnson's adaptation of Fifty Shades earned over $569 million at the box office, with sequels Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed to follow, albeit sans the director. Dornan and co-star Dakota Johnson are not confirmed for any Fifty Shades spinoff films.
Wayans and brother Shawn Wayans came to fame on The WB sitcom The Wayans Brothers, and went on to star in Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood, Scary Movie, Scary Movie 2 and White Chicks.
