Salman Khan has inspired a mobile phone app. A new game for android phones was launched in India yesterday in which the lead character’s look is similar to Khan’s in the 2008 action film Wanted. The game, titled Fighter Lukkha, is based on gang wars. “His character’s tapori [rakish] look was kept in mind when designing the main character,” a source told New York Daily News. The game will reportedly be only available in the form of a mobile app; there are no plans of turning it into a video game. Avicii tops UK charts for third week The Swedish DJ and producer Avicii has spent a third week at the top of the British singles charts with his dance hit Wake Me Up. The Official Charts Company, which compiles the weekly list, said the 23-year-old held off a challenge from the British soul singer John Newman, who climbed two places to No 2 with Love Me Again. Unchanged at No 3 was the American R&B singer Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines. On the album chart, the Welsh classical singers Richard and Adam Johnson claimed their first No 1 with their debut release, The Impossible Dream. The pair, who finished third on the show Britain’s Got Talent, pushed the English singer Jahmene Douglas’s Love Never Fails down to second place. Anushka Shetty all praises for new film team The southern Indian actress Anushka Shetty has announced her next project: the romantic drama Irandam Ulagam, being produced in both Tamil and Telugu, and directed by Sri “Selvaraghavan” Raghava. The 31-year-old star says working with Raghava has been an excellent learning experience. “He is one of the few directors who teaches nuances of acting, making one a great performer,” Shetty told reporters. She will star opposite the Tamil actor Jamshad “Arya” Cethirakath. “Arya is one actor I envy the most. I envy his dedication and wonder how someone can work with no hang ups and manage to do different kinds of films. He is very relaxed off the sets but is extremely committed on set,” said Shetty. Chris Evans to make directorial debut Chris Evans will make his feature directorial debut with the film 1:30 Train later this year. Evans will reportedly direct and complete production of the movie before reprising the role of Captain America in the forthcoming film The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Based on two strangers meeting in Manhattan, 1:30 Train is a romantic film in the vein of Richard Linklater’s movie Before Sunrise, according to Deadline. Joss Whedon says he’s making TV series he likes The director Joss Whedon says he’s been enjoying trust as much as freedom from his partners on the forthcoming sci-fi drama, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The TV series picks up where Marvel’s film The Avengers left off, tracking a team of skilled agents who investigate superhuman people around the world. The Buffy the Vampire Slayer director said both Marvel and the ABC network are on the same page, while noting pointedly he hasn’t always been blessed with that sort of creative relationship. S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres in September.
