Up to 620 displaced families returned home Sunday in southern Baghdad.
The remaining displaced families will return to their homes in two months, Alsumaria News TV channel quoted Baghdad Operations Commander Maj. Gen. Jalil al-Rubaie as saying.
Earlier in the day, the Norwegian Refugee Council said 637 displaced families have not returned to Mosul yet although the Iraqi army regained control of the city in July.
