Gaza – Kamal Alyaziji

Informed security sources revealed that an Israeli agent confessed that an Officer from the Israeli intelligence "Shin Bet" was responsible for waking him up every day to go to the mosque for morning prayers.  Sources told "Al Majd .. towards a security awareness": "the intelligence officer used to wake up the agent 15 minutes prior to morning prayers and ask him to go to the mosque to find out who attends the mosque at that time. The officer often aggressively confronted the agent if he was late for prayers, especially morning prayers.” He added: “the reason the officer did is because he wanted the agent to gain as much trust from the worshippers at the mosque and the residents in that neighborhood as possible, in the hope of giving him the opportunity to penetrate the Palestinian Authority.” They pointed out that the Intelligence officer demanded the agent to stay away from suspicious places, and bad company in order to keep a clean image in the neighborhood and be able to complete his mission successfully.   The sources pointed out that major changes occurred in the recent policy to recruit agents to work for the Israeli intelligence, pointing out that Israeli intelligence is now looking for people who enjoy a good reputation among people within high society, so they can service the Israeli intelligence better than an agent with a bad reputation who people are afraid to approach and deal with. On the other hand, another source told "Al Majd .. towards a security awareness" that intelligence officers ask some agents to do charity work such as helping the needy and support the poor in order to improve their image in society. The source revealed that the Zionist intelligence officers asked one of their agents last Ramadan to spend time in the mosque throughout the night during the last ten days of Ramadan. The source explained that the methods used by the Intelligence are regularly changed but that police officers are fully aware of those methods and chase after those agents and try to save many Palestinian youth before they fall into the Israeli Intelligence trap.
