The Arab League (AL) has expressed its relief at the outcomes of a meeting held between Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar and Libyan Presidential Council chief Fayez al-Sarraj in Paris, mediated by French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Arab League hailed the communiqué released after their meeting, AL chief spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said Thursday.
Such a meeting is a step forward to get out of the bottleneck and put an end to the transitional phase, Afifi said.
He reiterated the Arab League's rejection of the military solution to the Libyan crisis, highlighting the importance of ending this quagmire through political dialogue.
