A six-month-old baby was killed and 12 others were injured Tuesday after a three-story house where five families live collapsed in the village of Siflaq, Saqaltah Center in Sohag governorate.
At least 13 ambulances and civil protection units rushed to the scene to carry the body of the baby and the injured to nearby hospitals, including Akhmeem Central Hospital and Sohag University Hospital.
Sohag Governor Ayman Abdel Moneim, who rushed to the scene, declared a state of emergency in the hospitals which received the injured.
Abdel Moneim said that the state will foot the bill for medical treatment of the injured.
