Bahrain on Wednesday called on the international community to assume its responsibility to stop the grave Israeli practices in occupied Al Quds.
The international community should intervene to put pressure on Israel to respect international law and UN resolutions regarding the status of the city of Jerusalem as well as to protect the Palestinian people and their holy sites.
This remark was made by the Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the United Nations Jamal Faris al Rowaiei in his address to the Security Council during an open discussion on the situation of the Middle East including the Palestinian issue.
The open discussion was chaired by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of China, Liu Jieyi, the current president of the Security Council till July.
Al Rowaiei expressed concerns towards violent clashes that took place in Al Aqsa Mosque stressing the need to immediately open the holy mosque for worshipers
The Palestinian issue will always be a top priority for the Kingdom which supports efforts aiming at a permanent two-state solution solution that goes in line with international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative, al Rowaiei added.
Achieving comprehensive peace in region is directly linked to restoring the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent State on the borders of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital as well as ending the Israeli occupation of all Palestinian territories, al Rowaiei added.
