The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, participated in a meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York.
This statement was issued following the meeting:
On Sunday, September 23, 2018, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates held a consultative meeting in New York prior to the 73rd session of the General Assembly. The meeting aimed at activating the joint Arab role in dealing with various crises in the region. During the meeting, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs were briefed by the Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, regarding the situation in Syria. The Ministers decided to continue consultations as needed.
