The Cairo Criminal Court uncovered on Saturday the reasons behind the ruling issued in the case of assassinating prosecutor general Hesham Barakat against 67 defendants of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group.
The defendants are charged with the assassination of late prosecutor general and acting as spooks for the Palestinian movement Hamas with an aim to carry out terrorist acts in Egypt.
Last July, Cairo's Criminal court sentenced 28 defendants to death for their conviction in the murder of Barakat.
The court also sentenced 15 defendants to life imprisonment and eight others to 15 years in jail, while 15 defendants were sentenced to 10 years in prison.
